In Italy food is everywhere.
It grows spontaneously along dusty roads, forgotten seeds sprout here and there, abandoned vines continue to climb into the vegetation and bear fruit.
We live in a blessed land.
Wild apples, blackberries, mulberries, small pears, strawberry tree berries, plums, asparagus, chicory, blueberries, mushrooms…. Chestnuts.
Everything is here, at your fingertips, just pick up.
A walk is enough.

This avocado and this medlar have become small trees: it was enough to throw the seed into the pot.
The trees continue to grow and bear fruit even in environments that are no longer “natural”: in the courtyards of factories, around parking lots, along the railway.

Figs and this grape grow around this industrial sawmill.

The fig tree is loaded with ripe fruits.

It is September, and like figs, grapes are also hanging.
Nobody collects. We have better products, sure. But our Earth continues to give us gifts, even when it is mistreated.
Sometimes we should stop and observe a few seconds, just enough to feel a little gratitude.
