Since January through June Giglio island is tinged with yellow.
First the gorse comes, the spiny genista. Calicotome Infesta is the Latin name.
A sweet and persistent scent pervades the Mediterranean scrub and the bees celebrate since the warm winter days.
Walking a few days ago, a working bee got trapped in my hair:it took a few minutes to free her and fly her back into the yellow.

Attractive and repulsive at the same time: it cannot be approached.

Entire slopes are covered in yellow.
After the gorse, the Gensita starts. The broom – Genista – timidly begins to bloom when the Calicotome Infesta is at the peak of flowering and reaches completion when the Calicotome has faded and the thorns are more visible on its branches.

The first flowers of the Broom- Genista, Spartium Junceum in Latin, right behind the last houses of the Marina.

The broom will accompany us until the end of May, when it will be replaced by another yellow, that of the big Daisies.

We have have all the months of Spring of trekking smelling of yellow.
