It happens before sharing.
It happens when you don’t know each other.
It happens when suddently you find that your words are flowing out from your mouth without you planned it.
It happens when the food will fullfill with joy the space left empty by the bad emotion that evaporated with your words.
It happens in the kitchen, when you are about to cry not just for the onion.
It happens while shelling peas, cracking nuts, peeling tomatoes or doing any other tedious and ripetitive work and strangely, you don’t notice the boredom, you are not bored. Your hands work authomatically and your mind clears off the superficial thoughts showing something buried.
Why? why those hidden emotions are showing up? maybe just because you feel safe in that moment.
And you know what? their energy is different depending the nature of the emotions.
Are they sad memories? you tell your stories, you cry then you smile.
Are they enthusiasm for a dream? you throw out your ideas and they take energy. It may happens that you start your dream-project.
The food, the heat of the stove mixes with the human warmth. Especially when hands start to interlace working together.
The intimacy of the kitchen creates friendships or reiforce them.
Cuisine inspires confidence.
