Marcella was one of my favorite teachers while studying abroad in Florence last spring. Marcella's passion for cooking was infectious and inspired me to be better. She encouraged all of her students to embrace the culture that surrounded us, and in doing so I gained a deeper appreciation for the food and culture in Florence. I will never forget the day when I told Marcella that I tried bistecca florentina for the first time. I told her that when I tried it, I almost cried because it was so amazing. She gave me a huge hug and said "this makes me so happy, you are finally realizing how to appreciate food." I will admit  I am a very picky eater. Marcella got me to try things I would have never tried in a million years. My study abroad experience in Firenze, would have not been the same if it wasn't for Marcella. She is an amazing teacher and woman inside and out. So if you want to experience Florence, the real Florence Marcella is the one to talk to.
